Battery Charger, when used in stand by application is not a standalone dedicated Battery Charger. In standby application a Battery charger along with a floating Battery provide uninterrupted DC power supply to a critical DC load. This is Float-cum-boost battery charger or FCBC feeds the critical load without any break and also charges the discharged battery.

Battery chargers dedicated for charging Traction batteries are commonly known as “Traction Battery Chargers”. Traction batteries are used for material handling vehicles inside a plant, passenger carrying carts in airport or railway stations, Golf cart and similar applications.
